The Canbio series ranges from 130 to 800 metric tons (145 to 880 US tons) of clamping force. It features a full digital control Canbus controller and a unique hydraulic system. Negri Bossi developed the first line of fully digitally controlled injection machines to reduce the number of system components and in doing so, increase reliability.
The “bus” wiring architecture makes use of several smart components that share a digital communications pathway. Each component is connected to the control network and able to recognize signals intended for it and to ignore signals for other components. The technology differs from other systems in that it uses a distributed intelligence technique: the industrial PC controller sends signals to the system components such as smart pumps, proportional valves, and transducers, telling them to perform a certain task. In this way, each function is not slowed by the controller itself, and can perform faster and more efficiently. . The Negri Bossi SE (Smart Energy) upgrade is available on all models of the Canbio line. The standard control is the Columbia™.
