CANBIO VS Injection Press

Machine Characteristics

Thanks to a fully digital control, the new CANBIO VS provides high molding accuracy, thus allowing excellent repeatability of molded parts.

Injection group
An extremely compact unit with high injection capacities and a quick barrel change system using a bayonet coupling of the plasticizing screw directly into the screw motor. The injection unit is very rigid and well guided, thanks to the use of linear ball bearing guides. A very high plasticization quality is guaranteed by the high L/D ratio of all screws (21 for the medium diameter). The quick barrel change allows a 15 minutes change over so you can fit the machine with special screws and the standard machine becomes a tailored one.

Clamping unit
The new group can hold bigger molds in respect to the previous CANBIO line. The clamping unit keeps its characteristic flexibility thanks to the use of quick coupling ejector system and the T-slots mold clamping system. The mold area has increased cleanliness by using sealed bushings for tie bars lubrication and sealed bearings on the platen slides. The frame of the machine is open on each side for easy part removal.

Hydraulic group – Standard Version
The hydraulic group uses digital variable displacement pumps with integrated electronic control of pressure and speed permitting higher energy savings. Additionally, the hydraulic group uses an “OFF LINE” low pressure filtration systems. A separate circuit with a small hydraulic pump sends the oil from the tank into the heat exchanger and then to the filter with a reduced flow and pressure. This way, the oil maintains its viscosity and protection characteristics for a longer period of time assuring higher reliability and performance. The quantity of oil required is also reduced, which in turn allows the necessary energy for cooling to be reduced to a minimum. A cutting-edge electric-hydraulic system provides rational, efficient use of energy even when the IMM is being used at maximum performance levels. Digital networking of servo-pumps and proportional distributors ensures outstanding communication efficiency with the IMM control and also allows components to be monitored and set-up directly from the control.

Hydraulic group – Smart Energy Option
Also available is an optional smart energy drive system. This unique solution couples the variable volume pump with a variable speed inverter controlled servo motor. This solution provides excellent energy savings along with fast acting response times. Additional benefits include a 20% increase in performance when compared with the standard system. Energy savings of 15% to 45% are achievable.

Electronics
New Columbia control system with 15” TFT screen, transponder electronic key for operator identification and software access, state of the art Celeron M PC, integrated wireless interface, PC/Video DVI – SDL connection, alpha-numeric keyboard including T9 mode, quick access keys, ring keys with high brightness led technology (patented), new Help on line allowing a high speed navigation thanks to a wider number of direct link buttons. Thanks to the AIMCO system it is possible to oversee from a remote location the IMM network: it allows monitoring not only typical injection molding parameters but also the CAN network status, making it possible to operate the machine from a remote PC connected to the Internet just as if one was beside the machine.
